5th Annual Virginia Living Museum Otter Ball Goes Virtual

The Otter Ball: A Virtual Conservation Event, the Virginia Living Museum’s (VLM) major fundraiser, is going virtual this year! There is an urgent need to support the daily care and feeding of over 1,000 native mammals, birds, reptiles/amphibians and fish at the VLM. This year’s event will benefit the Emergency Animal Support Fund established at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The VLM is asking individuals to create a fundraising page, bid in an online auction and participate in a Facebook LIVE event, a musical finale, on Friday, June 5 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The virtual fundraiser has a 3-step approach.

  1. Join the Virginia Living Museum and create an individual or team fundraising page and become an Ambassador for the mission. Log on now to join.
  2. Bid in an online auction that is underway through June 5. Auction items include an opportunity to win a private experience with the Bobcat or the playful Otters, and other animal experiences/sponsorships with the Red Wolf, American Alligator and naming rights to a baby Bobcat. One of a kind experiences are also on the auction block including a VLM Birthday Bash, Private VIP Behind-the-Scenes Tour and Cocktail Party and Mastodon Preservation Preparation and Tour. Log on now to bid
  3. Mark your calendar and create your own Facebook Watch Party to celebrate during a Facebook LIVE Musical Finale, Friday, June 5 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. with entertainment from Good Shot Judy. Log on to view.

The Otter Ball: A Virtual Conservation Event is the leading contributor to the VLM’s conservation mission. The community’s continuous support enables the VLM to sustain and strengthen conservation through educational experiences for the community.
The event is made possible thanks to presenting sponsor TowneBank. For more information visit thevlm.org/join/donate/otter-ball.
