Ages 12 and Older Eligible to Receive COVID Vaccine at the Newport News Community Vaccination Center Residents are encouraged to get vaccinated

Beginning today, anyone 12 and older can receive a free COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine at the Newport News Community Vaccination Clinic (CVC), as well as additional sites throughout the Commonwealth. The Newport News CVC is located at 13785 Warwick Boulevard and is open Monday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted or you can make an appointment by visiting www.vaccinefinder.org and typing Newport News Community Vaccination Center in the search bar. At the CVC, those under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian and be accompanied by a parent, guardian or someone acting in the place of a guardian to receive a vaccine. Studies have shown that the vaccine is safe for people 12 and older and effective at preventing serious illness from COVID-19. The FDA shared that “[p]arents and guardians can rest assured that the agency undertook a rigorous and thorough review of all available data, as we have with all of our COVID-19 vaccine emergency use authorizations.” For additional information on the FDA’s evaluation and testing of the vaccine, visit the FDA website. Four million Virginians have received at least their first dose. The quickest way to help Virginia get back to normal is to make sure most people are vaccinated. If you’ve received your first dose, please make sure you get your second. A list of available vaccine clinics is online at www.vaccinefinder.org
