As part of Amazon’s Global Month of Volunteering campaign, today, employees from Amazon’s Norfolk Delivery Station presented ForKids with a back-to-school donation of 1,250 backpacks fully kitted with much-needed school supplies. Last year, ForKids sent 1,241 children back-to-school with supplies through their drive. This year, Amazon topped that number by providing 1,250 fully-kitted backpacks, emphasizing the importance of equitable access to resources and tools needed to fully participate in the classroom.
Amazon is committed to investing in the communities where its employees live and work. The event is part of 100+ planned events around the country to surprise students and educators and support school districts in underserved communities.
