COVID-19 Tests Available for Curbside Contactless Pickup at Newport News Public Library Branches

Limited quantity available – tests must be reserved in advance
Newport News Public Library (NNPL) is distributing free self-tests for COVID-19 in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health. A limited quantity of tests will be available and will be distributed two per person. The tests must be scheduled for curbside contactless pickup by calling the branch where pickup is requested; a library card is not required. Kits are available at the following NNPL branches:
Pearl Bailey Library – 2510 Wickham Avenue, 757-247-8677Main Street Library – 110 Main Street, 757-591-4858Grissom Library – 366 DeShazor Drive, 757-369-3190 Pickup hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.; and Saturday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. To use the tests, individuals will need an internet connection and an internet-enabled device, such as a computer, mobile phone, or tablet, with a webcam or front-facing camera, microphone, and speaker. You will need a valid photo ID, including a driver’s license, passport, passport card, birth certificate, state-issued identification card, military ID card, or official school ID to take the test (though no ID is needed to pick up a test kit). Free WiFi is available in all the library branch parking lots. If you are symptomatic or if you have been told to quarantine because you are a close contact to someone who has COVID-19, send someone else to get the test kit for you. Wear a mask to pick up the test kit.
