Free First-time Homebuyer Class

Are you thinking about buying a home, but not sure where to start, or if you’re financially ready? Virginia Housing, in conjunction with Liz Moore & Associates, LLC, is offering a free First-time Homebuyer Education Class. You’ll learn about the entire homebuying process from start to finish, and how to stay on track as a responsible homeowner.

This two-part class will be held Jan. 11 and 12 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at United Steel Workers Local 8888, 4306 Huntington Ave., in Newport News. Topics will include:

  • Improving your credit
  • Exploring lenders, mortgages, and the loan process
  • Finding the right real estate agent
  • Home inspections
  • Developing a spending plan
