Hampton Announces Temporary Closure of Phoebus library Monday

The Phoebus branch of the Hampton Public Library will be temporarily closed for about six weeks to accommodate structural work.

The library branch, located at 1 S. Mallory St., will close to the public on Monday, Aug. 31. The scheduled reopening date is Oct. 15.

The closure will accommodate a. new roof and exterior masonry work; replacement of the HVAC system and duct cleaning; installation of new carpet on the first and second floors; painting; and a subsequent clean-up after the work is completed.

All other branches of the library will remain open, and patrons can still access the library’s digital resources.
