Charlotte, N.C. (January 22, 2016) – Due to the pending inclement weather forecast, several Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) sporting events have been postponed or rescheduled.
The basketball games scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd including Bowie State vs. Chowan have been postponed without a makeup date.
The previously scheduled matchup between Livingstone College and Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday, January 23rd has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 24th at Brayboy Gymnasium in Charlotte, N.C. Tip-off for the women’s basketball game is scheduled for 1 p.m.; 3 p.m. for the men’s game.
Three of Saturday’s basketball contests have been rescheduled for Monday, January 25, 2016. The Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings will tipoff against the Virginia State Trojans at 5:30 p.m. at Daniel Gymnasium in Petersburg, VA. The men’s game will follow with a game time slated for 7:30 p.m. The doubleheader between Fayetteville State and Winston-Salem State will also begin with the women at 5:30 p.m. and proceed with the men’s matchup at 7:30 p.m. These contests will be held at the C.E. Gaines Center on the WSSU campus. Virginia Union will visit Lincoln in Lincoln University, Pa. for a 5:30 p.m. women’s tip and a men’s start at 7:30 p.m. at the Manuel Rivero Hall.
The Winston-Salem State University Six-Way Track and Field Meet scheduled for Sunday has also been postponed. No reschedule date has been announced. The second annual She’s Got it Covered, Classy Hat Affair has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Grand Pavilion Ball Room of the Embassy Suites Hotel (460 N. Cherry Street, Winston-Salem, N.C.) at 10 a.m.
The CIAA Bowling Event II that was scheduled to take place January 22-24 has been rescheduled for February 5-7, 2016. The event, hosted by Chowan, will still be held in Rocky Mount, NC.
