Mayor Dyer’s Annual State of the City Address to be Live Streamed on VBgov.com

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — March 11, 2020 — Today, Virginia Beach Mayor Robert M. “Bobby” Dyer will deliver his second annual State of the City address at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St. This year’s presentation will be live streamed online at VBgov.com/media at approximately 12:30 p.m. The event is the second in a series of five sponsored by the Hampton Roads Chamber.

During his remarks, the mayor will highlight key accomplishments and initiatives taking place in districts throughout the city, provide project updates, address challenges and opportunities in the city and give a glimpse into the city’s future. Much of his talk highlights the incredible compassion and commitment that people here show to those who are hurting and in need following the 5/31 tragedy. “We are forever changed,” he said.

Mayor Dyer’s presentation will include videos featuring the community’s response after 5/31; the entrepreneurial spirit of business owners; the City’s latest tourism marketing campaign featuring the voice and music of Pharrell Williams; and Capital Improvement Program projects taking place in every district of Virginia Beach.

​The State of the City address is scheduled to be rebroadcast on Cox Channel 48 and Verizon Channel 45, beginning Sunday, March 15, and play through Saturday, April 4, as scheduled below:

  • Wednesday – 8 a.m. 
  • Friday – 9 p.m. 
  • Saturday – 12 a.m. & 3 p.m.
