Norfolk, VA – Naval Support Activity (NSA) Hampton Roads will honor the victims who lost their lives from the attacks that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, during a memorial walk and remembrance ceremony executed by the 2019 Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Selects starting at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 11.
The Chiefs, CPO Selects, service members, and base personnel will march around the base and then participate in a formal ceremony featuring guest speaker, Capt. (Ret) Ken Inglesby, who worked at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, and was near the location where the plane hit.
“This is a time for us to remember the victims who lost their lives and the extraordinary heroism that was displayed by so many responders on that day and the days that followed the attacks,” said Capt. Jonathan Kline, Commanding Officer of NSA Hampton Roads. “Our country faced one of the greatest challenges in its existence, so this ceremony is one of the ways that we can honor and remember those individuals and continue to keep their memory alive. We will never forget that day that still continues to impact all of us today.”
