Join the Newport News Police Department this Saturday, Dec. 3, for an all-day hiring event! Anyone interested in becoming a police officer or dispatcher is invited to come to NNPD headquarters at 9710 Jefferson Ave. between 8 a.m. and noon to sign in. Application, testing and interviews will take place all in the same day. Police applicants will take both a written test and physical abilities assessment.
