Norfolk City Offices to Close for Labor Day

NORFOLK, Va. – The City of Norfolk’s offices, including libraries, The Slover, recreation centers, Norfolk Animal Care Center, Commissioner of the Revenue, City Treasurer and the Norfolk Courthouse will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day. Offices and facilities will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Norfolk beach lifeguards will be on duty at Community Beach Park (700 E. Ocean View Ave.) and Ocean View Beach Park (100 W. Ocean View Ave.) from noon to 6 p.m. daily through Labor Day. Lifeguards are not on duty at Sarah Constant Beach Park (300 W. Ocean View Ave.) and patrons swim at their own risk.

There are no trash, recycling or street sweeping operations scheduled for Monday, Sept. 7. Bulk item pickup requests for Tuesday, Sept. 8, must be received before 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4.
