Norfolk Labor Day Holiday Affects City Trash Schedule

Here is a look at how city offices, departments and services will be affected by the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 7.

City offices:  Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Garbage collection: No trash, bulk or recycling collections on Monday, Sept. 7. Collections scheduled for Monday will be done on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Yard waste site:  Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Landfill:  Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Street sweeping:  No sweeping on Monday, Sept. 7. Sweeping schedule for Monday will be done on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Sweeping scheduled for Wednesday will be done on Friday, Sept. 11.

City schools:  Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Libraries: Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Community and neighborhood centers:Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Treasurer and Commissioner of Revenue:Closed Monday, Sept. 7

DMV Select: Closed Monday, Sept. 7

Courts: Closed Monday, Sept. 7

City parks: Open regular hours

Public golf courses: The Woodlands and The Hamptons are open regular hours

Hampton Tennis Center: Open regular hours

Hampton History Museum: Open regular hours, but administrative offices are closed     

Peninsula Health District: Closed Monday, Sept. 7

James T. Wilson pier: Open regular hours

Hampton Aquaplex: Indoor facilities closed Monday, Sept. 7, but splash park is open

Hampton Carousel: Closed Monday, Sept. 7
