The Children’s Museum of Virginia Hosts 5th Annual Arts for Learning Celebrate the Arts on March 7

If you’re looking for a family-fun day of art activities for all ages be sure to attend Celebrate the Arts! on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of Virginia. The event, presented by Arts for Learning (A4L), marks the fifth year of collaboration between A4L, and the Children’s Museum of Virginia. Celebrate the Arts! is an interactive day filled with performances by A4L artists, arts activities for all ages, and the museum’s special hands-on art exhibit Framed: Step Into Art™, a traveling exhibition created by the Minnesota Children’s Museum.

A4L artists will perform on the second floor for all guests of the museum. Come enjoy magician Harold Wood’s “Circus in a Suitcase”, Atumpan’s “Balla Fasseke and the Griots of Mail,” and Jennifer Gammill’s “Elephant’s Gerald” program about life and music of Hampton Roads legend Ella Fitzgerald. One incredible interactive dance workshop will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Joel Casanova and Joppa Whitehead, come learn the “Hip-Hop Dance Basics!” Spoken Word artist Stephanie Last with be our emcee and even perform some poetry throughout the day.

Educators and PTA Board Members will be admitted with on guest for free, and PTA Members will received $1.00 discount museum admission (proper identification required). To learn more, visit www.yav.org.
