| The Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) organization strives to change the face of agriculture to create a more diverse and equitable environment. High school freshmen and sophomores interested in the industry are invited to apply for the Virginia Junior MANRRS Leadership Institute, which will be held Dec. 7 – 8 at the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg. Participants will have opportunities to interact with Virginia Tech and Virginia State faculty and students for fun hands-on/minds-on activities, professional networking and academic workshops. Students will learn more about the Jr. MANRRS organization and how they can help start a chapter in their own community. The Jr. MANRRS Planning Committee will select up to 75 outstanding current ninth and tenth grade students to participate in the Jr. MANRRS Leadership Institute. Forms must be submitted by 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18. The program is free, but students must apply and be accepted to participate. Register on the Junior MANRRS application page. The MANRRS mission is to promote academic and professional advancement by empowering minorities in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences. |
