CIAA Announces Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors #7

FOOD LION MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Phillip Marcelle, Saint Augustine’s
(Sophomore – Greenville, Grenada)
Marcelle won the 200 meters at the VMI Winter Relays with an automatic qualifying time of 21.18. The sophomore sprinter currently ranks first in the CIAA and third nationally in the event. 
FOOD LION MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ja’Qun Wilkins, Johnson C. Smith
(Freshman – Spartanburg, SC) 
Wilkins finished first in the long jump at the South Carolina Invitational with a provisional qualifying mark of 7.55m, ahead of several Division I competitors. The freshman from Spartanburg, SC ranks first in the CIAA in the long jump and tied for fifth nationally. 
FOOD LION WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jerinique Brooks, Fayetteville State
(Senior – Nassau, Bahamas) 
Brooks ran the fastest time in the 60-meter dash with a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 7.55 at the Camel City Invitational over the weekend. The Nassau, Bahamas native also ran a leg on the Lady Broncos 4×400 relay team that finished second with a provisional time of 3:50.44, ahead of several Division I teams. Her 60m time ranks 10th in Division II while the relay time is seventh nationally. Both times rank second in the CIAA this indoor season. 
FOOD LION WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alisha St. Louis, Johnson C. Smith
(Senior – Trinidad and Tobago) 
St. Louis finished sixth in the triple jump at the South Carolina Invitational with a provisional mark of 12.23m, the highest DII finisher at the event. The Trinidad & Tobago native ranks first in the CIAA and fifth nationally in this event.
