EXPERIENCE SUFFOLK’S SIGNATURE FLAVORS ~ 2019 TASTE OF SUFFOLK STREET FESTIVAL~

SUFFOLK, VA (August 28, 2019) Downtown Suffolk’s premier family-friendly event is back for its 13th year! The Annual Taste of Suffolk Downtown Street festival is slated for Saturday, September 7, 2019, 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and will feature delicious culinary creations, wine and craft beer, all-day musical entertainment, merchants, a new vehicle exhibition and an array of children’s activities. Situated along North Main Street in the downtown historic district, Taste of Suffolk is free and open to the public. New for 2019 is the Taste of Suffolk “After Party.” Why let the fun stop at 5:00 p.m.? Taste of Suffolk Downtown Street Festival attracts thousands of attendees from across Coastal Virginia and beyond. Suffolk’s historic tree-lined North Main Street will set the stage for 20 Suffolk eateries presenting various specialty food items. Additionally, merchants will offer goods and services, Suffolk automotive dealerships will showcase new vehicles and Suffolk Master Gardeners will host a gardening expo. The children’s area will be abuzz with complimentary activities for the little ones—bounce houses, arts and crafts, face-painting, amusements and more!

In addition to the live music on the main stage all day and eating contests, this year’s festival will include a Beer & Wine Garden showcasing local craft brews and wines while watching the ODU vs. Virginia Tech game on several large screens.

Roads affected by the festival will be closed to thru-traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. Road closures will be at Finney Avenue and North Main Street down to Fayette Street, Oakdale Terrace, Freemason Street and Finney Avenue, Washington Street from Commerce Street to Saratoga Street, and Bank Street at Commerce Street. The roads will reopen at 8:00 p.m.
