Francis Land House to Host 29th Annual Spring Open House

The 29th Annual Spring Open House, formerly known as the Gathering of the Guilds, will take place on Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Francis Land House, 3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach. Visitors will have the opportunity to cast their vote for a permanent name for this exciting spring event, and to participate in a variety of interactive activities the whole family can enjoy! 29th Annual Spring Open House activities include:

  • The Francis Land Artisan Market
  • Live Music
  • Interactive Demonstrations
  • Kids’ Activities
  • Tours of the Francis Land House and Garden
  • The Gathering of the Guilds

The South Hampton Roads chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society will also hold its annual native plant sale as part of the day. Perennials, shrubs, small trees and other plants that thrive in seaside and woodland gardens will be available. The plants are expected to sell fast, so please arrive early if you plan to purchase. Many varieties of vendors will also be on display throughout the day. Whether you are interested in mixed media art, pottery, basketry, candles, stained glass pieces, and more, there will be something for everyone to enjoy! Popsicles will also be on sale. 

The event will also incorporate the 2020 Smithsonian Museum Day theme, “Earth Optimism,” and feature related activities for all ages.
