High Winds Remember Your Pets

With the high winds today and tomorrow, the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office would
like to remind people to think about the safety of their pets. Severe
weather often causes stress and anxiety in pets.
This morning, one of our deputies found two dogs running near busy Sewells
Point Rd. and Joyner in Norfolk. He picked them up, and turned them over
to the Norfolk Animal Care center. The lab had a microchip, so they’ll be
able to find the owner, but the Husky did not. If you recognize him,
please call Norfolk Animal Care at (757) 441-5505.

In case you have pets, the average cost to have a microchip implanted by a
veterinarian is around $45, which is a one-time fee and often includes
registration in a pet recovery database.
