Hurricane Preparedness Facebook Live Recap
Last night, the Newport News Division of Emergency Management hosted a Facebook Live session in support of Hurricane Preparedness Week. The Emergency Management team was joined by Dan Brown with the National Hurricane Center and Jeff Orrick with the National Weather Service in Wakefield. The session began with a lively presentation and discussion between Dan and Jeff. They reflected on the 2020 Hurricane Season, shared our region’s history of storms and discussed what some models are predicting. While Dan shared the national perspective, Jeff highlighted the impacts to the Newport News and Hampton Roads areas.
