“I’m Loving it” 5 players from Norfolk, VA. Nominated to participate in the 2023 Mcdonald’s All-American game.

Seven hundred twenty-two elite boys and girls high school basketball players across the nation have been nominated for a chance to play on a big stage at the Mcdonald’s All-American game. This game is even more remarkable because five Norfolk, Virginia, athletes have been nominated.

These athletes meet the criteria to be nominated by a school principal, coach, athletic director, or member of the Mcdonald’s All-American Games Selection Committee.

  • Kennedy Harris, Hampton High School, Hampton, Va. (girl’s team nominee)
  • Diamond Wiggins, Norview High School, Norfolk, Va. (girl’s team nominee)
  • Zakiya Stephenson, Princess Anne High School, Virginia Beach, Va. (girl’s team nominee)
  • Jordan Leaks, Phoebus High School, Hampton, Va. (boys team nominee)
  • Etienne Strothers, Menchville High School, Newport News, Va. (boys team nominee)

These athletes join previous nominees like Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Maya Moore, Breanna Stewart, and plenty more.

The top 24 for boys and girls will be revealed Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, on NBA today between 3-4 pm on ESPN and will be announced through other ESPN platforms. Tickets will be available on Jan. 24 too.
