Mercy Drops Youth Volunteer At Safety Town

City of Portsmouth

This week at Safety Town, The Safety Town Advisory Committee hosted 28 high school volunteers from the non-profit organization Mercy Drops.  The students represented three states — Ohio, Wisconsin, and Oregon — and performed lawn maintenance work and cleaned the interior and exterior of all of the exhibits.  Afterwards, the youth volunteers were treated to an outdoor cook-out.

Safety Town, which provides pedestrian, bicycle, gun safety awareness, and stranger danger training to all Portsmouth Public Schools kindergarten, first, and third graders is visibly enhanced by their efforts and Safety Town is Portsmouth Proud!
