Mosquito Truck Fogging Scheduled for This Evening, June 16th,Portsmouth-Chesapeake Joint Land Use Study
The Mosquito Control Division announces that Truck Fogging is scheduled for this evening, Wednesday, June 16th, wind and weather permitting, for the following routes–
Route 1 includes – Churchland West, Peachtree, Long Point, Bishops Green, Hidden Cove, Southampton, River Shores, Merrifields, Edgefield, Brandon Square, Windmill Shores
Routes 4 and 5 include – Park Manor, Mayflower Park, Elizabeth Manor, Hodges Ferry, Manor View, City Park, Simonsdale, Hodges Manor, Collinswood, Hattonsville
Beekeepers in the affected areas should keep bees covered during spraying operations, and people with known allergies should stay indoors.

TIP and TOSS– Residents are reminded to eliminate mosquito-breeding areas around your property and neighborhood. TIP the water from items that hold even the smallest amounts of water like toys, tarps, empty flower pots, baby pools, birdbaths, etc.…and TOSS trash and debris that can collect water.
After extensive study and input from the public on critical issues such as roadway flooding, multimodal transportation, access, parking, and land use, the Portsmouth-Chesapeake Joint Land Use Study has proposed actions to address these issues in a draft plan that is intended to benefit neighborhoods, the Navy, and businesses in surrounding areas. The community is invited to learn about these recommendations at an upcoming Virtual Town Hall Meeting, Wednesday, June 30th, at noon.
