Newport News Beaches Now Open

Governor Ralph Northam has announced that public beaches in Virginia can reopen effective today. The beaches had been off limits, except for fishing and exercising, since the governor closed them at the end of March. Huntington Park Beach and other city beaches are now open for swimming, sunbathing and other activities. We have instituted the following rules to help reduce the spread of coronavirus and keep everyone safe.

  • Stay 6 ft. away from others (unless you are from the same household)
  • No groups of more than 10 people
  • No amplified music
  • No large coolers
  • No tents OR groups of umbrellas
  • No group sport activities (volleyball, Frisbee, etc.)
