Norfolk Hosts Guidance Out of Silence Community Gathering
Norfolk CSB hosting suicide prevention and awareness event at Norfolk Botanical Garden
NORFOLK, Va. – On Thursday, Sept. 10, World Suicide Prevention Day, Norfolk Community Services Board (CSB) Prevention Services, in partnership with Norfolk Botanical Garden, is hosting Guidance Out of Silence, a community walk and gathering dedicated to raising awareness, fostering connection and reminding individuals that no one has to face life’s challenges alone.
Guidance Out of Silence takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Norfolk Botanical Garden (6700 Azalea Garden Rd.) and welcomes residents to come together in support of suicide prevention, mental wellness and hope.
Event highlights include:
· Community walk through Norfolk Botanical Garden
· World Suicide Prevention Day recognition and remembrance
· Community partners and behavioral health resources
· Mini-sessions on QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)suicide prevention and Lock and Talk, promoting safe firearm storage and suicide prevention
