Additional Portsmouth Lane Closure and Reminder

The Department of Engineering has announced that the outside lane of southbound Effingham Street, between King and County Streets, will be closed from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26th, during scheduled work within the block.   

Reminder–  The following lanes will be closed during road repair work on Thursday, May 27th, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Please note that this work could extend until Friday, May 28th, and two-way traffic will be maintained.

  • Left turn lane of Airline Boulevard westbound at Kings Highway
  • Two right lanes of Airline Boulevard between Portsmouth Boulevard and Kings Highway

PFRES Takes COVID-19 Vaccine to  Medically Homebound

Portsmouth Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services (PFRES), along with the Portsmouth Health Department, are distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to those who are medically homebound and their family members.  If you or family members are medically homebound and would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, please email the Portsmouth Health Department at phd.info@vdh.virginia.gov to schedule an appointment or call Portsmouth Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services at 372-0745.
