Hurricane Season officially begins on June 1st, and in advance of the start, Hurricane Preparedness Week is Sunday, May 1st, through Saturday, May 7th. Citizens and businesses are encouraged to get ready, to get prepared, and to learn how, visit noaa.gov/hurricane-prep. Also, each day of the week, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) will be sharing important information from the National Hurricane Center. Here are the daily themes and links —
Sunday, May 1 — Determine Your Risk
Monday, May 2 — Develop an Evacuation Plan
Tuesday, May 3 — Assemble Disaster Supplies
Wednesday, May 4 — Get an Insurance Checkup
